Happy New Year and all that malarky. I hope you celebrated in style (whether that be in comfy PJs with a cupper or out on the razz whilst dressed to the nines…) and have avoided the inevitable hang over this morning. With it being the start of a new year, I’ve decided to put together a list of six targets for 2026. In twelve months time, I plan to look back at these targets and reflect on how many I have or haven’t achieved… no pressure!
My Six Targets for 2026
- Carpet the stairs and repaint the landing.
- Sort the attic Stacy Solomon style including new Christmas storage bags and boxes.
- Read 30 books either on Kindle or in physical format.
- Maintain this past years weight loss.
- Try some new recipes.
- Continue self care through journaling, reading, gaming, and taking time out.

Here’s hoping that come December 31st 2026, I will have been successful in my achieving my targets and will be able to venture up to a tidy and organised attic to put away my Christmas decs into their brand new sorting boxes and bags, having just eaten some fancy new meal that I’ve recently concocted for New Years Day… For now the piles of rubbish strewn here, there, and everywhere can remain above my head – out of sight and out of mind until I have the energy, enthusiasm, and funds to tackle my targets.
