#TheLittleThings – July 2026

It has been a jam-packed July in this household; The kids counted down to their summer holidays whilst we simultaneously squeezed in a million and one events and various appointments prior to jetting off on a very last-minute holiday to Spain… It’s certainly been eventful! Here are some of #TheLittleThings from the past thirty-one days.

Read

Having safely secured myself a parasol, a sun-lounger, and a spot by the pool, I couldn’t wait to kick back with my Kindle and to soak up some sunshine. What better book for a seaside vacation than Emily Henry’s ‘Beach Read’. It was an easy and enjoyable read for the holiday and although I tend to read a couple of books whilst abroad, I’ve just not had the focus of late and no longer see the point in racing through my reading.

Watched

Earlier this month my husband and I ventured up the coast for some comedy with our son. We spent the evening watching Scott Bennett’s ‘Sugar Baby’ and what an amazing evening it was. Not only did Scott have us in stitches laughing but he also moved us to tears with the incredible story of his daughter and her rare condition. It was an awesome evening despite the three-hour return thanks to a local road closure.

Heard

I’ve recently found myself rather taken by Holly Humberstone’s ‘Red Chevy’. It’s such a kick-ass song and has now been added to my ever-growing playlist alongside Feists ‘My Moon My Man’.

Made

After months of browsing, designing, and deliberating ideas, I finally finished my back-tat design and booked in for early July. I was fully expecting for this be a really painful experience but I’m pleased to report that it was a rather relaxing few hours and following a few weeks of cocoa butter and general care, it’s finally healed and I love the finished result! I’ve already booked in for my fourth tattoo in October.

Wore

Given that we’ve recently had a heatwave in the UK and that I’ve spent the past seven days soaking up the Spanish sunshine in Salou, I’ve been sporting various swimwear, sundresses, shades, and flip-flops for the majority of the past month. With all the recent vitamin D, the freckles have also made a guest appearance and so I’ve given up trying to conceal them and am instead rocking sun-kissed skin.

My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By

July has been quite literally none-stop in this household, there has been so much going on that it’s quite difficult to pick out just three top moments from the past thirty-one days. However, here’s my picks for the past thirty-one days:

1. Having arrived safely in sunny Salou, we enjoyed a couple of days exploring Port Aventura and after queueing for almost two-hours Paul and I ticked ‘Red Force‘ off from our bucket list as we rode Europes biggest, tallest, and fastest coaster. We also rode Dragon Khan, Furious Baco, Stampida, and of course – Shambhala.
2. With school being ‘out for the summer’, my darling daughter took part in a summer orchestral concert, she then braved her grade two flute exam and whilst we were getting ready for an evening out in Salou we were given the fabulous news that she had passed with flying colours! E is flying with her flute and I’m so flipping proud of her!
3. Having braved three tats in one year, I finally bit the bullet and had a scaffolding/ industrial piercing put into my right ear. Though I’m pleased with how it looks, I’m somewhat fed-up with the healing process despite knowing that it could take well up to a year. I’ve been spraying the piercing sites every couple of hours with saline, I’ve avoided getting the area wet, and I’ve tried my very best to LITFA (leave it the f alone) but I still managed to bash the darned thing whilst riding Furious Baco and it’s since been rather sore. Here’s hoping that the healing process is easier now that I’m back home and no longer swimming and riding coasters…
