#TheLittleThings – January 2026

by Cosy WithCoffee

Welcome to the first post for #TheLittleThings blog-linky, a monthly celebration of the positive points in life. Feel free to join in, to share your own #TheLittleThings posts and to comment should you fancy it.

I personally feel the little things are often the most important aspects in life, especially so when it comes to raising a smile. Without any further ado, here are my ‘Little Things’ for the month of January.

Read

I set myself a challenge to read thirty books this year but I’ve been lacking time of late so whether I’ll reach my goal I’m not sure. Still, I’ve managed to read three books this month; Lights Out by Navessa Allen, Things We Never Got Over and Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score. Each of these have been a ‘Kindle Unlimited‘ read and I’ve got to say they were certainly worth the subscription fee!

Watched

We’ve enjoyed some snuggly Saturdays on the sofa watching Michael Mcintyres Big Show and Gladiators with the kids. There’s nothing quite like cosying on the couch during the winter months, especially with trash TV and a brew. My son and I have also been enjoying past episodes of ‘Would I Lie To You’ as he loves a bit of comedy. Though we’ve been blasting through most of the BBC IPlayer content, I, meanwhile, have switched over to ‘Now TV’ to start watching Heated Rivalry and though I’m only one episode in I can assure you – it’s definitely heated!

Heard

Having spent the past two months listening to Heart Xmas on repeat, now that Christmas is done and dusted I’ve switched over to Heart 80s.  I’m loving listening to the classic pop and rock from back in the hay day.

Made

Whilst I’ve spent a fair amount of time baking and making sweet treats for the household to enjoy, I’ve also made a huge amount of online purchases this month. My poor postman must think that I’ve got shares in Amazon as I’m forever receiving parcels at present. Though I totally support the high street where possible, it’s far easier to order online when it comes to puppy supplies!

Wore

It’s been flipping freezing recently, especially with the recent storms. I decided to ‘layer up’ and keep cosy for work so invested in several pairs of leg warmers along with some new scarves, both of which are now part of my daily get up.

My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By
  1. We brought home a beautiful basset hound puppy earlier this month and though our household has been chaos ever since, she’s settled in really well. Bridget is now best friends with our older dog and they spend most of their time snuggled on a double dog bed or rolling around playing. It’s so lovely to see!

2. I’ve recently updated my wardrobe with some winter warmers, Ive had my hair cut and styled in a curly bob, and to finish the look, I’ve had my nails freshly manicured and painted in a pretty pink ready for Valentines Day. Though I always feel super guilty having a pamper session, it was well worth it as I look and feel so much better.

3. I’ve got a tonne of house improvement plans for the year ahead. I want the house to feel clean, comfortable, and most importantly – cosy. Though I’ve got a garage full of flooring and paint ready to decorate the office, I decided to hold back on this for the time being and instead, I’ve replaced my daughters mattress so she’s now comfier and cosier and I’ve added a lot more decor to the house in terms of candles, wax warmers, and sparkly LED lighting.

Thanks for reading my #TheLittleThings post, I look forward to catching up and reading through your #TheLittleThings posts
