Welcome to this month’s #TheLittleThings post, which is part of a series that you are very welcome to join.
September saw the kids return to their regular routine and suddenly we were thrown into the academic swing of things in a big fashion. As a result, the month seems to have flown by. Here are some of the ‘little things’ that have brightened the month gone by.
Read
Alongside completing Jessica Peterson’s cowboy romance book, ‘Cash’ I’ve spent the past few weeks browsing through various University prospectuses with my son in the hopes of finding a suitable course and location for his further studies. It’s a long time since I was at University and a whole heap of things have changed since I was a student!

Watched
I haven’t watched a huge amount of television this past month. Saying that, I did get to see the latest Toy Story film and what a watch it was! Disney sure delivered when it came to the fifth installment of this animated adventure – I may be forty-something but I still enjoyed every second of the movie. I’ve also spent time winding down of an evening watching both ‘Ink Masters‘ and ‘Youth‘, a gripping new series on HBO.

Heard
After watching Florence & The Machine’s live set from Reading last month, I’ve since downloaded the audio and have had it playing practically on repeat. There’s something so whimsical and witchy about that woman – it certainly suits this time of year!

Made
September seems to have been the month for making bookings; it’s most definitely been admin heavy! I’ve now got a diary full of dates, times, appointments, and such-like that we are slowly working our way through.

Wore
Having sent a whole heap of clothing to charity following a huge amount of weight loss in the summer, I’ve since updated my wardrobe with some autumn essentials, including a couple of shirts to go with long-sleeved cami-tops and jeans. I’m currently loving my flannel shirts – they are super cosy, casual, and super seasonal.

My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By
September has most definitely been a ‘proud parent’ month as my kids have blown my socks off with their success. Here’s my top three moments from the past month:
- My clever little lady came home with a letter to let us know that she had won not one but two subject awards at school. We have since attended the prize-giving evening and it was a delight to see my daughter strut her stuff on that stage!
- My son was all smiles as he passed his driving theory test earlier this month. He is now booked in and preparing for the actual test – it won’t be too long before he’s out on the roads!
- I continued adding to my piercings this month with a further two lobe piercings. I am now planning to add further piercings to each of my lobes and hopefully one day, a helix.

Thanks for reading my #TheLittleThings post. I look forward to catching up and reading through your #TheLittleThings posts
