Welcome to this May’s edition of #TheLittleThings, a series celebrating the little wins in life. You are most welcome to join by adding your comments below or linking up your own #TheLittleThings post via the linky button below.
May has been one heck of a jam-packed month as our son turned sweet seventeen and he made an eager start with his driving lessons. We’ve also had the half term term holidays, family meals out, days shopping in Manchester, crazy golf games, and of course, DIY bedlam, and of course the recent heat-wave which we’ve made the very most of. So without further waffle, here’s some of #TheLittleThings from the past month.
Read
Having fallen into a bit of reading slump, I finally revived my Kindle from my bedside and downloaded the latest Navessa Allen book ‘Game On’. After reading that in barely two sittings, I then bought Laurie Gilmore’s recently released ‘The Daisy Chain Flower Shop’ which I’ve been devouring where and when I can find time to fit in some fiction.

Watched
I can’t wait until we get our new sofa with the chais lounger so we can kick back in ultimate comfort whilst watching the television! Still, we’ve enjoyed time together cuddled on what will soon be our ex-couch watching various TV shows and movies including ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ which was a really magical watch for all ages, especially so if you’ve read the book. Paul and I have also been watching the latest episodes of Rivals, Gogglebox, Tattoo Fixers, and we are currently wading our way through BBC’s ‘Two Weeks In August‘.

Heard
I’ve enjoyed listening to a number of artists whilst driving to and from work each day, though my music choices tend to switch and change much like I change my socks… This month I’ve tended to stick to my beloved Tori, along with a bit of Paula Cole, Alanis Morissette, and The Cranberries for good measure.

Made
With my beautiful boy turning seventeen I made his most favoured of cakes – Delia Smith’s ‘Squidgy Chocolate Log’. As always, it didn’t last long and was devoured within a couple of hours.

Wore
It’s been fairly hot weather of late thus I’ve switched from wearing my comfy jeans and jumpers to lighter dresses and flip-flops. I’ve also had my nails removed and replaced with a brand new set of ‘dusty chrome pink’ acrylics which are sadly growing out a little now. I’m not sure what colour or design to go for next… any suggestions let me know!

My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By
As I said above, May has been pretty manic and I found myself living for the weekend souly so that I had time to catch up. Weekends seem to fly by these days. Still, we cram more than plenty into that time. My top three moments from the month gone by include:
- My sons seventeenth birthday; we finally got him placed on the insurance and he’s since started driving lessons with a local instructor. We enjoyed a meal out with family then spent a day in Manchester shopping and playing crazy golf to celebrate.
- Paul and I removed our old grass from the garden and laid new brand new astroturf. It looks incredible and the garden feels 200% better. Paul then continued the DIY by laminating our office floor then painting the walls in a pale, dusty pink. It looks so much cleaner and feels far better now that the carpet her been removed and skipped.
- Paul very competently completed the Coniston to Barrow walk/ run to raise money for charity. I am a very proud wife!

Thanks for reading my #TheLittleThings post. I look forward to catching up and reading through your #TheLittleThings posts
