Welcome to Octobers edition of the #TheLittleThings post, which is part of a series that you are very welcome to join.
It’s certainly been a jam-packed and very busy but extremely enjoyable month. Now that Halloween has been done and dusted it feels very much like we are on the countdown to Christmas. I do so love the autumn months, although I’m not all that keen on the darker nights… October certainly flew by and now that the clocks have ‘fallen back’ and the darker nights are upon us, here are a few of #TheLittleThings which have made me smile this past month.
Read
Following a bit of a break from the books, I finally picked up my Kindle and fell back into some fiction. This past month I’ve read Jessica Peterson’s ‘Wyatt’ and ‘Sawyer’, both of which were beautifully written slightly spicy romance stories with a carefully curated cowboy narrative. I have just downloaded the fourth book into this series, ‘Duke’ which I plan to read this next month.

Watched
Like much of the UK, I’ve spent the past few weeks glued to my screen watching the latest series of The Celebrity Traitors. I’ve also enjoyed watching Gogglebox and more recently, the Halloween special series of ‘Last One Laughing’.

Heard
Following losing my Father, I often wished that I could have seen Led Zeppelin live by his side as it was his all time favourite band. Last year, my husband and I made a pact to take our kids to see our favourite singers and bands so that they will never had the ‘I wish’ moment when it comes to music.
Earlier this year we took the kids to see Tori Amos (my all time favourite singer) play live in Manchester and last night, we then took the kids to watch Korn play live at the AO Arena completing our pact. It seemed the ideal option for Halloween this year and I have to say, it was an amazing event!

Made
With it being the spooky season, we’ve spent a fair amount of time baking and making this month. My darling daughter also decorated these cakes especially for the Halloween half term.

Wore
With the temperatures having dropped somewhat, I’ve spent the last month wrapped up in various layers. I’ve also added further ink and piercings to my body including a rather special tattoo featuring handwritten lyrics by Tori Amos who very kindly sent her work through the post to my home address. This is a tattoo I only ever dreamed of having and am now the very proud owner of. I’ve also had a cute witchy tattoo added to my forearm and have had some Halloween nails put on for the spooky season.

My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By
October has been such a whirlwind of a month, here are my top three moments from the month gone by:
- We enjoyed a lovely family day out to Muncaster to celebrate Halloween – It was great to see the kids getting dressed up for occasion and having such fun together! I also rather enjoyed throwing a few axes and soaking up the spooky atmosphere.
- The kids decorated the house for Halloween and I’ve really enjoyed spending time curled up and cosy with the twinkly lights whilst watching an array of spooky shows and frightening films as a family.
- Alongside an evening watching Korn, we also squeezed in a days shopping at the Arndale Centre and Afflecks Palace. It was good to get out and to see the city, especially following J’s recent visit to Manchester University.

Thanks for reading my #TheLittleThings post. I look forward to catching up and reading through your #TheLittleThings posts
